V.N. Posted April 2 Posted April 2 This morning I upgraded to Affinity Designer 2.6.2. In pixel persona, the stamp brushes no longer work. When I select the brush, I see the outline positioned on the screen, but it doesn't paint. I can't show a screenshot because I lose the brush when trying. Quote
R C-R Posted April 2 Posted April 2 With the Paint Brush Tool selected, what does the context toolbar show for things like opacity, flow, blend mode, protect alpha, etc.? Also, which stamp brushes are you using? V.N. Posted April 3 Author Posted April 3 Opacity 100, flow 100, blend mode normal, protect alpha not clicked ( no idea what this does). The stamps are from Frankentoon's Concept Master. I don't think I've used them since V2 was released, so they may not have worked from the beginning, but they definitely worked with V1. Quote
R C-R Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Hmmm. Frankentoon's Concept Master stamps are working fine for me in V2.6.2 so I have no idea why they are not for you. V.N. Posted April 3 Author Posted April 3 Face palm. When I was working in Designer persona, I turned the stroke off. Strange how it wasn't obvious in pixel persona. Anyway, it's solved R C-R 1 Quote

The Frankentoon stamp brushes are raster (pixel) brushes (which is why In AD they are only available in the pixel persona). They do not have strokes, nor are they affected by stroke settings in the AD Designer persona. I know you said this was solved but it might help others if you could explain more about how anything you did in the Designer persona affected these (or any other) raster brushes. V.N. Posted April 3 Author Posted April 3 I had colour for stroke off. I know these are raster brushes, but I didn't think to check that there was a colour being used. As soon as I selected black, the brushes worked. Quote

As soon as I selected black, the brushes worked. Raster brushes do not have strokes (so they don't have stroke colors), so I think what you meant is you set the foreground color to "None" (transparent). You would have had to do this in the Pixel persona because the color settings in the Designer persona (for fill & stroke) are independent of the color settings for foreground & background in the Pixel persona. And of course, you can use any foreground color for the stamps, not just black. V.N. Posted April 3 Author Posted April 3 You're correct. I didn't look at the label, just the icon which is the same in both personas. Quote
