CaitVD Posted April 1 Posted April 1 (edited) Today, I saved a document I've been working on for over a week on my iPad in Designer. I have saved my progress on this document multiple times each day since 3/25/25. I saved the document to my iCloud Drive Affinity folder, as I do with all my Affinity documents. After I restarted my iPad, I opened the document, and all my progress in the last week is gone. The file says last modified was 3/25/25. This is not the first time since 3/25 I've restarted my iPad. I don't understand how a week of work just disappears in an instant? I also opened Designer on my computer just to see if maybe the cloud file hadn't updated yet somehow (also seemingly impossible since I've saved and restarted the program and my ipad countless times in the last week and never lost any of my progress). I've also checked the "on my iPad" files to ensure a duplicate wasn't somehow created. Can anyone help with why this has happened and whether there is a way to recover all my progress? I'm devastated. Edited April 1 by CaitVD Quote

You mention you restarted your iPad, for what reason are you doing this, it actually uses more of your battery shutting it down and restarting it, you should simply lock it to put it to sleep otherwise you risk losing data on any file not saved and closed correctly. It is not sufficient to simply save your file which is held in an open like state by iPadOS, you must also close your file on the Affinity home screen in a SIMILAR way you would do on a desktop, you save your file and close any open tabs. Once you close your document the last edits are saved to the iCloud file.
