af-user
I had a network disconnection right after clicking on one of the sample pictures. That caused the initiated download to be corrupt/empty. AD created an empty file with 0 byte and tried to open it. This causes an error: "The file type is not supported." Of course you can reproduce it: right click on in an Explorer-Window --> new --> Text file --> name the file "emptyfile.afdesign". Then try to open it. So I see 2 cases to handle: Check downloads were completed handle empty files with extension .afdesign System Notebook Lenovo P50 CPU: AMD Ryzen 3900x CPU: Intel i7-6700HQ RAM: 64 GB RAM: 32 GB GPU: RTX 3080 TI GPU: NVIDIA Quadro M2000M 4 GB SSD: Samsung 980 PRO 1 TB SSD: Samsung 850 Pro 500GB OS: Windows 11 Edu x64 OS: Windows 10 x64 TFT: 1 x Samsung C49RG94SSU TFT: 2 x Lenovo
Mark Ingram
Thanks af-user, I spotted this the other day, and also noticed that you can no longer re-download the sample, which is quite annoying. I'll get this logged. In the mean time, you can delete the broken file from: %APPDATA%\Serif\Affinity Designer\1.0 (Beta)\Samples
