Maxdanger Posted March 21 Posted March 21 I have a document with a multi-page spread and I would like to place the document in another, but only one of the pages. According to the help guide, this should be possible with a spread option in the context toolbar, but I can't see it there. All I see is the Page Box option: Placed document bug.mp4 Has this option been removed with the multi-page spread feature, or am I missing something obvious? I'm using Publisher 2.6.0 (but this bug also exists in 2.6.2 beta). Thanks very much! Hangman Posted March 21 Posted March 21 HI @Maxdanger, It looks as though the behaviour was the same in 2.5.7 having just tested using a two-page spread... 24 minutes ago, Maxdanger said: I have a document with a multi-page spread and I would like to place the document in another, but only one of the pages. According to the help guide, this should be possible with a spread option in the context toolbar, but I can't see it there. All I see is the Page Box option: I think the help guide is referring to placing a multi-page document rather than a multi-page spread document, i.e., it only functions when placing individual pages so you can place multiple individual pages into a multi-page spread but not individual pages from a multi-page spread... The spread option does appear in the context toolbar but only when you select the placed document and then it only gives you the choice between Master (if you have one) or the combined spread page range... The only way around this I can find is to change the source file to single pages which you can do by adding a single page Master and applying it using size and count from the Spread Properties window for the three-page spread but that defeats the point of having the initial three-page spread in the first place. I suspect it is by design but I couldn't confirm that for sure... Hopefully, someone from Serif can clarify... Maxdanger Posted March 21 Author Posted March 21 Hi @Hangman I see what you mean - as always you appear to have the answer 🙂 In that case, please can an admin move this to the feature request area - it would be great to have the ability to place individual pages from a spread. Thanks very much for your help! MikeTO Posted March 22 Posted March 22 The Spread control is hidden for documents with only one spread. If you add another spread to your document then you will see the control like this. There's no way to change this now but you could use the Vector Crop tool to trim the unwanted pages from the displayed spread. Some users have asked for the ability to view documents as pages instead of as spreads. Perhaps this could be done for placed document spreads at the same time.
