Pyanepsion Posted March 14 Posted March 14 v 2.6.1.3134 Hello everyone, I need to generate several dimensions of an image for a website. Reducing a WEBP image to 480 px often gives a mediocre result. Integrating the AFFPUB version used to create this WEBP image into another AFPUB file generally doesn't improve the rendering, and may even make it worse. Is there a way to get a better result? Please find attached the original file and its integration into a target file. cible.afpub origine.afpub Quote 6 cœurs, 12 processus - Windows 11 pro - 4K - DirectX 12 - Suite universelle Affinity (Affinity Publisher, Affinity Designer, Affinity Photo). ███ Mais je vous le demande, peut-on imaginer une police sans sérifs ?
NotMyFault Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Reducing the resolution by factor 10 in 2 dimensions has naturally an impact to details. For a test, make a copy of the publisher file and reduce resolution of the document. Then use view mode pixel to get a realistic preview what the export while looking at like. To keep text readable, you need at least 10px with specifically suited fonts, perfectly aligned to pixel positions (which is impossible in Affinity). For good looking sharp text, you need 20-30 px for a letter. Other apps might provide better results for such extreme downscales, but you have to accept the laws of physics / nature. In general, you may get better results by sharpening after downscale, trying other resampling methods as bilinear (which is the softest) or using external image encoders.
