RaphaelToast Posted Wednesday at 08:30 PM Posted Wednesday at 08:30 PM (edited) After the latest update, there's a new bug in Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 which prevents the user from properly rotating or skewing an object. If, say, you draw a rectangle and then attempt to rotate it from any of the 4 corners, the cursor will switch from rotation to scale on click. The same thing happens if you try to skew the object from the center-top. The result is that you can basically only ever scale an object. It's pixel perfect - with trial and error you can move your cursor further and further out and eventually it'll let you rotate and skew on click. This happens with or without Hardware Acceleration enabled, and regardless of object or artboard size. Apparently this is an issue that also occurred with Affinity 1 and has reappeared. bug.mp4 Edited Wednesday at 08:39 PM by RaphaelToast Added some more info. Quote
MikeTO Posted Wednesday at 09:50 PM Posted Wednesday at 09:50 PM Hi @RaphaelToast and welcome to the forums. I see the same issue in 1.10.6, 2.5.7, and 2.6.x. If it was ever fixed in v1, it broke again before 1.10. I searched the forum but didn't find a thread on this but I agree that I think it's been previously reported. Komatös Posted Wednesday at 10:12 PM Posted Wednesday at 10:12 PM I cannot confirm this here. Depending on how far away I am from the handle with the cursor, the view changes from scaling to rotating or skewing. Could it be that you are using the Magic Mouse? Hangman Posted Wednesday at 10:24 PM Posted Wednesday at 10:24 PM Hi @RaphaelToast and another warm welcome to the forums, I think this is likely a longstanding known issue regarding the tolerance between the two states logged under AF-875 which is still awaiting a resolution... Can you confirm whether you're using a mouse or trackpad, and if the former, which mouse? MikeTO Posted Thursday at 01:51 AM Posted Thursday at 01:51 AM FWIW I was testing with my trackpad. I just tried it with my Logitech mouse and it doesn't happen with that. Old Bruce Posted Thursday at 11:50 PM Posted Thursday at 11:50 PM For what it is worth I don't see this on my Mac with the Wacom tablet, nor with my wired Trackpad. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
