SMOK Posted March 12 Posted March 12 When I'm designing, I make a group of sketches/photos/drawings and give that group a mask. Then I move the image inside the mask to create a dynamic composition. But since yesterday, when I move an image, it goes out of that group and goes on top of it in the layers palette. I tried the same with an older document; there it works as it should. Could it be a bug? I attached two images, one before dragging an image in the group. Second one after it pops out of the group and mask… Quote
GarryP Posted March 12 Posted March 12 I can’t tell from the two images where you are dragging from or where you are dragging to. Would you be able to share a full-screen (whole application UI) video showing us what you are doing and what happens when you do it? Quote
SMOK Posted March 12 Author Posted March 12 I made two small videos. Bad en Good. As you will see when I move the Kingfisher (new file), it will pop out of the group. When I move the Secretary bir (old file)d, it will stay in his group and mask… Bad.m4v Good.m4v Quote
NotMyFault Posted March 12 Posted March 12 You are using Artboards, not groups. the behavior is by design. If a layer is moved and does no longer overlap with the artboards it will leave the old and enter another one if it overlaps there GarryP 1 Quote Mac mini M1 A2348 | MBP M3 Windows 11 - AMD Ryzen 9 5900x - 32 GB RAM - Nvidia GTX 1080 LG34WK950U-W, calibrated to DCI-P3 with LG Calibration Studio / Spider 5 | Dell 27“ 4K iPad Air Gen 5 (2022) A2589 Special interest into procedural texture filter, edit alpha channel, RGB/16 and RGB/32 color formats, stacking, finding root causes for misbehaving files, finding creative solutions for unsolvable tasks, finding bugs in Apps. GarryP Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Thanks for the videos, that makes it much easier to see what’s happening (even though they weren’t full-screen, so we can’t see everything that you can see including your Context Toolbar and Toolbar which could have important information in them). I’ve been able to replicate what’s in your first video and it’s not what I would have expected to happen – see attached video – but I don’t know if I’m ‘looking at it wrong’. Maybe someone else can shed some light on this. Quote
GarryP Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Ah, I think NotMyFault might have ‘hit the nail on the head’ there. Quote
