I've followed steps outlined in other posts:

- Create additional soft proof master page

- Add soft proof adjustment layer

- Group soft proof adjustment layer

- Apply soft proof master with replace existing unchecked

- Go to a page, select softproof later and edit linked

- Move soft proof master to top

The soft proof master has no effect on the page!

If I add a softproof adjustment directly to a page it does work as expected.

Am I missing something? Or does softproofing using a master page no longer work?

Is the master page layer then at the top of the layer stack on each document page? – Just in case: Don't move the master layer manually by dragging in the Layers panel but use the option in menu "Layer" -> "Arrange" -> "Move to Front".

Yes I confirm, that's exactly what I did. "Layer" -> "Arrange" -> "Move to Front"

Hi @stefanjan apologies for the late reply

Try the following instead, I've amended your original steps:

  1. Create additional soft proof master page
  2. Press 'Add Layer' within the Layers panel to create a 'Container' type Layer
  3. Add a soft proof adjustment layer
  4. Nest the Soft proof into the container Layer
  5. Apply soft proof master with replace existing unchecked
  6. Go to a page, select soft proof later and edit linked (Alternative: move the layer content below the Master Layer)
  7. Move soft proof master to top

This should retain the soft proof adjustment on the Master layer, affecting the layers below provided nothing else is nested into the Layer containing the soft proof.

Thanks, this works but do I have to do steps 6 and 7 on every page or is there a way I can make this work in one go on all pages in the document?

Try replacing step "7. Move soft proof master to top" with the menu command Layer > Arrange > Move to Front.

Thanks, that worked
