David Brear Posted March 8 Posted March 8 Could someone tell me why this is happening please? And how to stop it, of course. Where's the blue mess coming from and why is it only on the lower text? The words 'Briefing The magazine [etc]' are all in the same text frame, over a picture frame with the Viking thistle brooch image and black rectangle. This can be avoided by using Flatten, but then the file is enormous. Thanks! Quote
Old Bruce Posted March 8 Posted March 8 Wild guess because I have minimal information about how this is made. Change the stroke using the Stroke or colour panel to none. I am guessing there is a stroke applied using a brush. But it could be other things as well. David Brear Posted March 8 Author Posted March 8 This is the text frame settings. I'm struggling to think of anything that would only apply itself to the lower text. Quote
Old Bruce Posted March 8 Posted March 8 Sorry I meant (but didn't say) stroke on the text. Use the Text tool to select the text and look at the Character Panel, and or the Stroke Panel. David Brear Posted March 8 Author Posted March 8 This is the text frame on just a white background - no background graphics. Quote
David Brear Posted March 8 Author Posted March 8 Thank you very much Old Bruce. I've got an outline colour set. But why would it produce that effect, rather than restricting itself to the err, outline? Is this a bug? Quote
David Brear Posted March 8 Author Posted March 8 Yes, that fixed it. Now I've got another question coming up, so please assist also! Quote

As I said in my first post, you most likely have a brush, not a solid standard vector stroke. Check your Stroke panel to see if it has a brush or the usual plain stroke.
