Maxdanger Posted February 26 Posted February 26 I'm working on a book cover design for a client and I'm running into an export issue with the PDF. I have a few requirements from the client on how the cover is to be delivered: Fully flattened and rasterised CMYK/8 FOGRA27 Bleed included & crop marks Maximum possible quality (no JPEG compression) Ultimate delivery will be in 1200 DPI (for speed I'm showing the export below at 300 DPI) I've made a preset to export the cover design for with and without the crop marks. Neither are able to work correctly without enabling JPEG compression. To show this, I've mocked up a random cover design and export with the same settings: JPEG compression pdf bug.mp4 On the preview that appears in the export dialog, the pdf looks great, but when exported, the final file is completely unusable. Here are the files I generated in the video along with the .afpub file No crop marks, no JPEG compression.pdfNo crop marks, JPEG compression.pdfCrop marks, no JPEG compression.pdfCrop marks, JPEG compression.pdf Colour bug.afpub Quote 2024 14 inch MacBook Pro M4 Max, 128 GB RAM 2024 M4 iPad Pro 11 inch Affinity Designer 2.6.2 | Affinity Photo 2.6.2 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.2 | Current Beta versions.
Maxdanger Posted February 27 Author Posted February 27 Just to add - I've tried to export with the same settings on iPad and the bug exists there too. I don't have a Windows PC anymore so I can't test on that Quote 2024 14 inch MacBook Pro M4 Max, 128 GB RAM 2024 M4 iPad Pro 11 inch Affinity Designer 2.6.2 | Affinity Photo 2.6.2 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.2 | Current Beta versions.
Staff Callum Posted March 5 Staff Posted March 5 Hi MaxDanger, Please could you try exporting the attached file to see if the same issue occurs? My tests here seem to indicate this issue doesn't occur if I rasterise the mountain landscape image prior to exporting.
