I use Affinity Designer 2 on my iPad Air for work, and for seemingly no reason whatsoever, my app now refuses to open. When I click on the app icon, it shows me the opening screen for a split second before instantly crashing. I’ve tried turning my device off and on, forced restarting, offloading files to clear up space, deleting and re-downloading the app. All give me the same result. I use this application for my job, so this is putting a significant strain on me. I feel like I’ve tried everything, but nothing is working. Any help would be appreciated, I’m genuinely getting desperate.

Hi and welcome to the forums. I know the splash screen is just there for a second but double tap it with a single finger to open a window from which you can clear your user data. That might resolve the issue without having to reinstall the application.

Good luck

Hi  @CommanderMoth

Welcome to the Affinity forums

Thanks for reporting this and we apologise for this issue which is affecting Affinity on iPadOS 15 and iPadOS 16 less than 16.4.

We've replicated the issue and have it logged with our Developers and we hope to have out fix very shortly.

The Affinity Info Bot will update here when this has been resolved.

The issue "[iPad] Devices running iOS < 16.4 crash on startup following 2.6 update" (REF: AF-6020) has been fixed by the developers in the new release (2.6.1.3174) available in this iPad store now.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Affinity Info Bot to notify us.
