mmahmoodh Posted February 26 Posted February 26 (edited) Is there anyway to move the handles of 2 different nodes symmetrically/mirrored? For eg. Drawing a curved object. I want to be able to keep the curve of the opposite nodes to be mirrored so the object is symmetrical on both sides. Nodes.mp4 Edited February 26 by mmahmoodh Added tags. bures 1 Quote
GarryP Posted February 26 Posted February 26 No, that’s not currently possible. A similar question was recently asked about this in this thread, and it's been mentioned in other threads, so it’s something that some people would like. I don’t know if a feature request for this has been made (I searched the forums for handle symmetric but saw no requests for this) so it might be a good time to add one. mmahmoodh 1 Quote
mmahmoodh Posted February 26 Author Posted February 26 This will be a very good feature for illustrations and geometric drawings. Quote
GarryP Posted February 26 Posted February 26 I sometimes would like this too, although I’m not sure how the software/user would determine where the line(s) of symmetry would be. Feel free to add a feature request in the relevant section of the forums if you would like Serif to know that it’s something which you would like to have. Quote

The axis of symmetry lies on the perpendicular constructed in the middle of the line joining the two points. The designer is generally very lacking in the ability to draw symmetrically. Quote
GarryP Posted February 26 Posted February 26 Which of the possible ‘symmetries’ in my attached image should the software perform? They can both be said to be changing ‘symmetrically’, and I can think of other ways that get more complicated. I only ask as I’m pretty sure that both ways, and others, have been asked about before. mmahmoodh Posted February 26 Author Posted February 26 I would like both the options. The interaction can be modified with modifier keys. Quote
lacerto Posted February 26 Posted February 26 It certainly can be done in multiple ways; the user is in charge, and the software provides the means. "Just" having it one way (reflected symmetry) would be fine, since the other ways could probably be handled by modifying (e.g. flipping) individual segments. symmetries.mp4 Quote
