Guest
I have made a drawing similar to the one in the Affinity Designer - Shading Using Raster Brushes tutorial, but I'm wondering to get the colors like that. I have the "Ink" layer as in the video, but don't know how to add this "colour" layer and how to add the color in it...

Guest
File is attached here; as you see, I made it using individual strokes, but when i try to clip is or make a compound or anything, it all goes wrong... dratini_forum.afdesign
Staff Callum Posted July 26, 2016 Staff Share Posted July 26, 2016 Hi Muvor, What you had been doing with the dratini's eyes was spot on :) I have added abit more colour to parts just so you can pick apart what I've done but it looks as though you'd figured it out already.Great picture by the way we don't get many Pokemon on here! Let me know if you need anymore help! C dratini_forum.afdesign Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP.
Guest
Hi Callum, Thanks for your help :D. If I'm correct you made a new curve underneath the outline right? and then added a fill to it? It shows what a versatile program this is, I've really come to like it!

Guest
It works fine, just a little extra work though... And this will definitely not be the last Pokémon I'll make! One more question though: What's the difference between the Color and Color Dodge layer modes? I'm now using Color Dodge because it seems that it erases some lines that I don't want if I add color to the layer above it, but what else does it do? mu
