acsr Posted February 25 Posted February 25 (edited) Steps to reproduce Example threepage fold page visible as miniatures in the left pages sidebar. Master B is assigned per drag & drop to the middle page. On hovering on the middle page and also the others, the shared overlay shows up The master pages are sorted as list by alphabet, not by order in the fold. The form of display would be even highly counterintuitive when sorted in order of application left to right (guess: there are other r2l languages as well). This behaviour makes it impossible to discover which master page is assigned to a particular page. No other options to make the assigned master page visible "on" the symbol. The page settings dialogue does not provide the master page name as per page. Expected UX Provide an easy way to see how masterpages are applied per fold single page without digging into dialogues. Hangman Posted February 25 Posted February 25 Hi @acsr, What appears to be happening is that the Master Pages in the tooltip are displayed in the order they were applied rather than strictly alphabetically which of course is also unhelpful... acsr and MikeTO 1 1 Quote Affinity Designer 2.6.3 | Affinity Photo 2.6.3 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.3 MacBook Pro M3 Max, 36 GB Unified Memory, macOS Sonoma 14.6.1, Magic Mouse HP ENVY x360, 8 GB RAM, AMD Ryzen 5 2500U, Windows 10 Home, Logitech Mouse
acsr Posted February 25 Author Posted February 25 Hi @Hangman, no time to confirm this. Maybe helpful for the developers to dig deeper. The interface should display a mnemonic trailing or preceeding the basename with a separator or from a seperate index input field on top of the iconic page symbol, like you mimick it here. The solution should cover as well the use case if you want a master page spanning a whole spread… or consisting of a fold of pages. Not that easy to tackle. Quote
MikeTO Posted February 25 Posted February 25 While you're waiting for the tooltip to be fixed, don't forget you can apply colour labels to master pages now which will correctly identify which page is which master. acsr 1 Quote Download a free PDF manual for Affinity Publisher 2.6 Download a quick reference chart for Affinity's Special Characters Affinity 2.6 for macOS Sequoia 15.5, MacBook Pro (M4 Pro) and iPad Air (M2)

The Tooltip is actually displaying the Master Page order as they appear in the Layers panel from the bottom up which it also does in 2.5.7 and likely has always done but this still makes the tooltip a little nonsensical... acsr 1 Quote Affinity Designer 2.6.3 | Affinity Photo 2.6.3 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.3 MacBook Pro M3 Max, 36 GB Unified Memory, macOS Sonoma 14.6.1, Magic Mouse HP ENVY x360, 8 GB RAM, AMD Ryzen 5 2500U, Windows 10 Home, Logitech Mouse
