Gianni Becattini Posted February 25 Posted February 25 Is there a way to export a pdf without images? Thanks Quote www.k100.biz
GarryP Posted February 25 Posted February 25 You might be able to use the States functionality to hide/show the images before exporting – see attached video. The efficacy of that would probably depend on the construction of the document though. 2025-02-25 08-59-01.mp4 Quote
carl123 Posted February 25 Posted February 25 For Publisher and Designer: Switch to a page that has an image Select > Select Object > Images And switch off visibility (in the Layers Panel) for one of the images - the rest will also switch off their visibility Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.
Gianni Becattini Posted February 25 Author Posted February 25 thanks to both but none seems to work states: i followed the video but "images" is empty when I click on it select: it work just on a page, I have 1000+ more image in a book Quote www.k100.biz

Gianni Becattini Posted February 25 Author Posted February 25 When I press on the blue button nothing happens (see this detail) Quote www.k100.biz

Did I understand correctly? Doing it on a 1200 page book is not practical. I would like something like "exclude images from pdf export". Quote www.k100.biz

Gianni Becattini Posted February 25 Author Posted February 25 Sure, this is a small video. When I press on the left of the "Images" query nothing happens. ...and THANKS! Registrazione schermo 2025-02-25 alle 10.38.49.mov Quote www.k100.biz
GarryP Posted February 25 Posted February 25 Thanks for the video. In macOS I think you need to use the little ‘arrow/V’ icon to the left of the query name to open the query – it’s not in the same place as on Windows and the Light UI makes it difficult to see. Quote

Gianni Becattini Posted February 25 Author Posted February 25 YES! Now both work. For select, the problem was that I should select "image frames", not images. And I didn't see the small arrow... But I am a donkey: In this way I remove also the page backgrounds and so I see nothing, being the text white. I found however a solution: during export I set the image resolution to 1 DPI. So the file size reduced from more than 1 Gbyte to 8M. Thanks anyway. Quote www.k100.biz
Gianni Becattini Posted February 25 Author Posted February 25 However, you taught me two very interesting things I never used before. Who knows how much am I losing.... 😀 Quote www.k100.biz
GarryP Posted February 25 Posted February 25 You could also, depending on how your document was constructed, use States to help you change the colour of the text where needed. It wouldn’t be a ‘one-click-solution’ but it’s relatively quick – see attached video. 2025-02-25 10-25-16.mp4 Quote
Gianni Becattini Posted February 25 Author Posted February 25 Very powerful, thanks. I am sure I can find many other uses in my case GarryP 1 Quote www.k100.biz
