Today I upgraded the Affinity Designer to V 2.6.0. (on my Mac Sonoma 14,6). I noticed that al my assets were deleted and I was back on the default settings. How can I get my saved assets back?

I experienced this same issue. Also margins aren't being stored in artboards that are saved as assets. Reverting back to the previous version doesn't correct this either, assets are still missing. Hoping this can be addressed soon!

You guys do make regular backups, right?

MacBookAir 15": MacOS Ventura > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // MacBookPro 15" mid-2012: MacOS El Capitan > Affinity v1 / MacOS Catalina > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // iPad 8th: iPadOS 16 > Affinity v2

It goes without saying that one should take backups, but victim blaming is pointless - and it’s even more pointless to assume that all customers - not guys - have the technical level to perform a system backup. Not all customers spend their free time tweaking their computers, and certainly not all will understand how to do a full or partial restore.

It is far, far, far better if the company behind the product ensures that data is never lost during an upgrade - which, in my opinion, has happened multiple times with Affinity.

I have NEVER experienced a product destroying or removing my data - perhaps its own installation, sure - but if Affinity were to become the first to do so, I honestly wouldn’t be surprised that it was Affinity of all products.

Serif, did you foolishly fill the usability specialist role you advertised internally? If so, be transparent with your customers. Continuing without proper UX expertise both insults and affects your entire customer base.
