Quick Publisher 2 question, as nothing turned up in the FAQs...

I'm bringing spreads from a PDF file into a document as thumbnails, but the background is importing as transparent (being paper). I was hoping (like in InDesign) a quick click of a colour in the swatch would set the background colour, but this does not do anything regardless of whatever colour I select (I just want to make it white, as my background is grey).

If I create a picture frame, then import my PDF content, then I can set the background colour to white just fine... but is there no way to do this without the extra steps of having to make a picture frame? (as usual, a little more convoluted than I'd hoped...).

Just put a rectangle behind it and make it any colour you want.

That's what I ended up doing, which also felt a bit like going back to 1995.

Well, PDFs are transparent by default, so if you want something other than the paper colour /white, you need to add it to the page. If you need to apply the same colour to multiple pages you can just put it on a Master Page.

Yeah. It's all part of the learning with Publisher... at least there are a couple of solutions, but I wanted to make sure there wasn't something obvious (or hidden) that I'm missing!
