Miss Me Makes Posted February 23 Posted February 23 My program just upgraded but the new tool is not in my sidebar. How do I get the new tool? How do I know if any of the updates have worked? Quote

Personally, I don't know of any new tools in ADesigner. GarryP Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Welcome to the forums @Miss Me Makes In addition to what Pšenda said above, you can check to see if the software updated properly by looking at the version number in the splash screen when you start the application or via the “Help → About...” menu. If the version number is greater than what it was before you tried to update it then the software has been updated. Note: It’s useful to tell us which Affinity application you are using, and on which OS, so we don’t need to ask you. By doing so you should generally be able to get help more quickly. Quote
Bad_Wolf Posted February 23 Posted February 23 The "Object Selection" tool is only available in Affinity Photo. I think this is the tool you missed. Quote
Miss Me Makes Posted February 28 Author Posted February 28 @Bad_Wolf That's exactly what I was referring to. Thank you for clarifying!! If I have designer, do I have photo too or is that an additional purchase? I'm very new to the software. Quote
Miss Me Makes Posted February 28 Author Posted February 28 @GarryP Thank you for the welcome and the advise! I will be more clear moving forward. I appreciate the help! GarryP 1 Quote

If you didn’t purchase a licence for Affinity Photo, or if you didn’t purchase a Universal licence for the whole Affinity suite, then a licence for Photo would need to be purchased if you want to use the tool you are enquiring of.
