Affinity Publisher 2.6 crashes when I try to delete a single page or add a single page. (The problem does not occur when I delete or add double pages). I then uninstalled version 2.6 and installed the old version 2.5 and the problem disappeared.

Windows 11.

Hi @TheKing and welcome to the forums. Are you able to share the document here?

If not, could you install 2.6 and do a few tests? There are two versions of the installer for Windows, the default MSIX installer and the optional MSI/EXE installer, so you can install 2.6 using the other one without impacting your 2.5.7 installation. Click the arrow on the right side of the blue download button to select the installer you want to download.

Once you have 2.6 installed, try the following tests. It's possible none of these will make a difference but each of them would be one more clue.

  • Open the document. From the Pages panel's menu, deselect Page Move Options > Reflow Pages. Can you add or delete a single page now?
  • Open the document. From the Pages panel's menu, deselect Page Move Options > Anchor Toward Spine. Can you add or delete a single page now?
  • Open the document. From the Pages panel's menu, select Page Move Options > Split Masters. Can you add or delete a single page now?
  • Open the document. From the Pages panel's menu, select Page Move Options > Reapply Masters. Can you add or delete a single page now?

Also a crash report would be helpful for Serif. Here's how to find them.

Ok, I reinstalled version 2.6. But I cannot find "deselect Page Move Options". I am using a German version and the names (and places?) are different.

The commands are in the panel's menu - click the hamburger (3 lines) icon in the top-right of the panel.

  • Open the document. From the "Seiten" panel's menu, deselect "Optionen für Seitenverschieben > Seitenfolge ändern". Can you add or delete a single page now?
  • Open the document. From the "Seiten" panel's menu, deselect "Optionen für Seitenverschieben > Anker in Richtung Rücken". Can you add or delete a single page now?
  • Open the document. From the "Seiten" panel's menu, select "Optionen für Seitenverschieben > Master-Seiten aufteilen". Can you add or delete a single page now?
  • Open the document. From the "Seiten" panel's menu, select "Optionen für Seitenverschieben > Master-Seiten erneut zuweisen". Can you add or delete a single page now?

Thank you for clarifying

Yes, this works. But now you have only one page in a double-page layout – which is not what I want, of course.

Thanks. Does changing the other 3 commands make no difference? Knowing that would provide more information for Serif's developers.
