storemanUK Posted February 7 Posted February 7 I've had to start with a clean windows install (win 11 24H2) and trying to install affinity using MS store and a .msix file but both faile with error Code: 0x800706D9 The .msix installer gives the following text as the reason for the failure... App installation failed with error message: error 0x800706D9: While processing the request, the system failed to register the windows.firewall extension due to the following error: There are no more endpoints available from the endpoint mapper. Is there a standard exe installer available so I don't have to deal with microsofts buggy installers Quote

storemanUK Posted February 7 Author Posted February 7 Thanks for all the replies. This is what I found... The firewall was not running due to my reinstating the OEM image filled with bloat ware and macafee. Uninstall ING macafee did not reinstate the windows defender firewall. I went to the serif site and discovered there was a standard. Exe to download. This installed fine. Since installing I discovered there were still bloatware remnants causing the system to run slow so while I had a running system I downloaded the win 11 USB image and did a clean install. Everything is now as it should be. Cannot believe the speed of response from the forum. Pity not every forum is this fast Quote
