I posted about this recently and believe this to be a bug given it happens any time I copy objects from existing documents into new ones that have the live Gaussian Blur layer effect. I was working with a different document using the same layer effect on a hidden layer and the same issue happens when copying into a new document, but not with the document it originates from. I have other similar assets I have made and they all present the same issue when copying them into another document, but not if I use them as embedded documents. The issue is as described in my other recent forum post where performance drops significantly and the software becomes completely unresponsive or takes a very long time to complete any action on the affected documents. Attached is another document I have copied from and noticed this behavior in addition to my previous post containing a different document using the same layer effect that also causes the same problem.

I'm not seeing any performance issues with the document you attached to your post in this thread unlike your other thread where there was a clear problem with the gaussian blur filter.

Can your just clarify if you mean assets that you have stored in the Assets Panel or you are just using "assets" as a generic term for items you copy from another affinity document

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

Generically speaking, not the builtin asset library.

Hi Mrmendelli,

As my colleague Lee mentioned in your other thread this file seems to have the same corrupt live filter layer which I imagine is causing this issue. Once the bug reported in your other thread has been marked as fixed I will be notified and when that happens I will test to make sure this issue has also been resolved.

Thanks

I've done some more testing to be certain but I am getting inconsistent results. I will update this post with my findings when I have more concrete data.
