Obscure Reference Posted February 6 Posted February 6 Hi, I'm trying to export as a print ready PDF but Designer 2.5.7 won't let me. Whenever I export nothing happens and beyond that the file locks up. I can no longer select elements or save as a new file. I can reopen it and get functionality back but still no export. arcade.afdesign Quote
MikeTO Posted February 7 Posted February 7 I had no issues exporting your file to PDF from 2.5.7 or the 2.6 beta, using either the PDF (for Print) or Digital (High Quality) presets. I'm unsure why this isn't working for you. Sometimes an issue like this is due to linked resources but the only images are embedded. What happens if you try a different PDF preset or a non-PDF format? Are you using macOS or Windows? Good luck Quote Download a free PDF manual for Affinity Publisher 2.6 Download a quick reference chart for Affinity's Special Characters Affinity 2.6 for macOS Sequoia 15.3, MacBook Pro (M4 Pro) and iPad Air (M2)
Obscure Reference Posted February 7 Author Posted February 7 Thanks for looking at it. I'm on windows 11. I just tried exporting a PNG. No dice. The preview doesn't generate and after I've clicked export and chosen a file name nothing exports (no progress bar) and the software seems to freeze. I can no longer select anything. Stumped, it was working the other day. I just tried print to PDF with the same result too. Quote
Staff stokerg Posted February 7 Staff Posted February 7 Hi @Obscure Reference, I get the same issue and its related to the Warp group on Artboard 1. If you right click on that and select Ungroup, then try export it will export fine. I'm just checking this with our QA team as i can't see this already logged as a bug but there is another issue which is very similar and involves the Perspective Group @MikeTO Were you just exporting Artboard 2 or 3? If so you won't have seen the issue, try exporting the whole document or just artboard 1 and you should see the issue. Quote
Staff stokerg Posted February 7 Staff Posted February 7 Hi @Obscure Reference, This is the same as the issue we already have logged and is a regression over build 2.4.2 of Affinity. The only workaround would be to reinstall version 2.4.2 and you'd be able to export your file to PDF. You can redownload 2.4.2 from this link by clicking on the Previous Version section on the page. Obscure Reference Posted February 7 Author Posted February 7 Thanks for the help @stokerg. I'll install that other version. Probably best to just stick with that one till there's a fix I guess? Quote

This thread will get an update from the Affinity Info Bot when its been resolved, so keep an eye out for that and update when its been fixed. Quote
