I have stacked a photo, astro-photograph in Deepsky Stacker.  It gives you a TIFF file.  I try to import the file via new document or simply import file but the TIFF extension is not shown.  I tried a cut and paste or drop the TIFF into an open document / project and while a JPEG works, a TIFF is not even recognized.  I’m wanting to stretch the data and edit the photo but simply can’t get it into Affinity Photo 2.  Thank you for any assistance!

The extension would not be shown, but the file and its name should be shown. Do you perhaps mean that the file shows but it is grayed-out and not selectable?

If it's showing, but grayed-out, that might indicate that another application has registered itself as the handler for TIFF files, and there's an iPad quirk where that makes the files unavailable to other applications. In that case, it's possible that you could long-press on the file, choose Get Info, and Open the file from the resulting Info dialog. That has worked for some users in some circumstances, but not always.
