Hello, and thanks in advance for your help.

I've found an issue with the grid view on large screens.

When enabling the grid view (auto grid) on my MacBook Pro 13” and Affinity designer, the grid appears fine and small, making it useful for fine adjustments (Screenshot 1).image.thumb.png.36d9976db0cd2e4f7a8359e13458049c.png

However, when viewing the same auto grid (the default one) on my DELL monitor connected to my Mac Mini, the grid appears very large, and I need to zoom in significantly to reduce the size of the squares. This makes the grid not useful (Screenshot 2).image.thumb.png.34e855a0b924cd214bc5bbf8b72469d7.png

The monitor I’m using is a DELL U2520D (25” - 2560x1440p).

When I connect the laptop to the monitor, the grid displays incorrectly, so I suspect the issue is related to the screen size or resolution.

Affiinity 2.5.7 (latest), Macbook pro 2020 M1 8GB Ram and Mac mini M4 PRO 24GB RAM

Update:

I have tested the grid view in the Dell monitor but now with a windows computer and in that case the grid is displayed correctly. Fine and small squares as in the MacBook Pro.

So i asume is an error specific of Designer in MAC OS only

Hi @eduardotanco,

Looks like the number of grid auto divisions is based on the Display resolution on MacOS and compared to Windows the number of grid divisions is persistent regardless of the resolution. I'll get this inconsistency logged with the developers, thanks for providing a detailed report.
