jabocz Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Hi, I would like to make my own weekly planning calendar. I had the idea to do it using my own "press ready" file with facing pages horizontally. I prepared the sample pages using a data source (csv). But merged generate crazy files from group of three pages, but only one of then has DM data. What is wrong, I would like to do booklet of them and it is not possible. I have some questions: 1. can I specify which page is filled with DM data and the others are "mirrored/copied/not changed"? 2. why don't I generate 52 pages by week when I can use a master, right? 3. if I use only one page, then it works, but I want to specify something else on the first and last pages, how do I do that? 4. goal is to be a brochure, the first page should have a title and the entire calendar for 2025, then there should be a weekly planner you have some tips ho to do it? Staff NathanC Posted February 5 Staff Posted February 5 Hi @jabocz welcome to the forums I've not produced this type of planner/calendar booklet document via DM before, so I haven't got any tips relative to the setup without seeing the actual .afpub and datasheet, but I'm able to answer some of your queries more generally about DM. What is wrong Page two appears to be the only page that contains any merge fields, so it's therefore the only page that will be populated with records when the merge is generated. In your data merge template document, all pages that exist within the template will be repeated according to the number of records merged in the generated document. For example, in your screenshot, there are 3 pages so if you had 50 records in a .CSV to merge the generated document would generate 150 pages. To my knowledge, you can't specify what pages are and are not duplicated when generating the merge, but you could omit the page from the merge template and then manually create any extra required pages in the merged file. I am not sure I follow, the master page in your merge template doesn't have any bearing on the merged result; it appears to be applied to Pages 2/3 in your screenshot, which are the actual pages used for the template and therefore the generated merge. The master will be present in the merged document, however. Could you clarify what you want to specify, would this be a specific field within the datasheet? Quote
