anto Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Publisher 3089 is very buggy and crashes all the time. There were several crashes just closing open documents. Publisher has not made any reports on this. It just closed. There were 3 more crashes when deleting pages after merging data. It's almost impossible to do anything without losing data. ebce362e-c4f5-4222-ab1d-a8cbeab41cd1.dmp Quote
Hangman Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Hi @anto, Unusually I also experienced a lot of crashes after updating to 3089, most as a result of a data merge but running a Publisher factory reset seems to have largely resolved the issue so it may be worth running one to see if it resolves the crashes you’re seeing… Quote Affinity Designer 2.5.7 | Affinity Photo 2.5.7 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.7 Affinity Designer Beta 2.6.0.3125 | Affinity Photo Beta 2.6.0.3125 | Affinity Publisher Beta 2.6.0.3125 MacBook Pro M3 Max, 36 GB Unified Memory, macOS Sonoma 14.6.1, Magic Mouse HP ENVY x360, 8 GB RAM, AMD Ryzen 5 2500U, Windows 10 Home, Logitech Mouse
Staff Chris B Posted February 4 Staff Posted February 4 @anto what are you merging? Can you share any files with us so we can attempt to reproduce this? I've just tried a few test files I have lying around and made sure to delete pages etc. and it has been fine for me so it might be specific. I've just tried a few test files I have lying around and made sure to delete pages etc. and it has been fine for me so it might be specific. This is a folding phone book with phone numbers, anniversaries, addresses in a5 format. It has a background picture in the master. There are 5 pages. The merge fields are on three pages (not masters), and the other two pages are the title pages. The data is merged for only one page, that is, from 4 to 4. After the merge, I delete the extra pages. I have been doing this since 2022. And there was no such thing in any version. And in beta 3089, there were crashes. Maybe the crashes are related to new page improvements? Chris B 1 Quote

blackstone Posted yesterday at 01:43 PM Posted yesterday at 01:43 PM Mein Gott, was sind das für schlechte Nachrichten. Quote

If so do you mind attaching a video of the steps you're using to reproduce this crash and also the files you are using please? Looking at the reports I can see that its crashing whilst doing a Preflight check for Hyperlinks and Anchors. So a quick run through of the preflight settings would also be useful in the video. If it is reproducible for you, does turning off Preflight for the document allow you to then make the changes without the crash? Thanks! Quote
