azartguy
I don't know if this is a bug or the way the trial version is setup. I'd like to compare RAW conversions and AP jpeg against Photoshop, but if I can't save a file...
Staff MEB Posted July 21, 2016 Staff Share Posted July 21, 2016 Hi azartguy, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) The Save As and Save command are mainly to save in our native format or to overwrite an existing generic document like PNG or JPG you have opened. Note the that you are only able to save or export a file in Photo Persona. If you open a RAW file it will open in Develop Persona by default. You have to click the blue Develop button after adjusting the image to process it and move it to Photo Persona. To "save as" to a different file format you have to use the Export command (File ▸ Export...) Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software

billwill
I, too am using the trial version. Just spent over an hour editing a photo watching youtube video. Can't find save or save as, so I found this thread searching for answers. Was relieved to see here there is a File > Export option. However, it is not available either. How can I save it either as your special format, or at least a jpg or tiff? also, where do you set the dpi for a file? Thanks, bw
Staff MEB Posted May 29, 2017 Staff Share Posted May 29, 2017 Hi billwill, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) To be able to save or export a file you must be in Photo Persona. When you open a RAW file it will open by default in Develop Persona. This is where you can convert and develop your photo before sending it as a processed image to Photo Persona (clicking on the blue Develop button on the context toolbar). Then you can further edit it using regular photo editing tools (masks, channels, filters, localised corrections etc). It's here where you can save the file in our native format .afphoto (using File ▸ Save As) or export it to a generic format using File ▸ Export. For more information about Personas please check this video tutorial. Processed files like JPG, PNG, TIFF etc open by default in Photo Persona. To set image dpi go to menu Document ▸ Resize Document.
