  Hi All,

We have just made available an Release Candidate RC3 build of 2.6.0 beta - version 2.6.0.3089 - This was created to address bugs and make improvements to the new features announced in this post

The fix list for this build is here.

Improvements in 3089

  • Expand Stroke added to stroke right click (context menu) in Designer and Publisher's Designer persona. [AF-4754]

This is a potential release candidate, meaning that 2.6.0 will be released to the public shortly, though it may end up being a slightly later build than this, depending on what is found in this build.

Please report bugs in the Other "New bugs in the beta" forum not this thread.

I concur. Better menus, less disruptions in workflow. Glad to see more long standing paper-cuts getting addressed.

I've added a Shortcut for that (Ctrl + Shift + E) and it works well and fast for me. Would that be worth trying for you? Or maybe I'm getting this new improvement wrong?

Best regards!

Way ahead of you. ;)

It is however missing the point. Contextual menus are there for a reason and common operators like Expand Stroke was one of many examples of which these menus were insufficient. You shouldn't need to create shortcuts for everything, especially if you want the software to be accessible for those who do not use a keyboard. There are tablet users who do not use keyboards on PC and improvements like adding Expand Stroke to the R click menu for a bunch of tools help with making Affinity better for that purpose. I used to run Photoshop with only my tablet keys at one point, so I am very much in favour of what Serif have done with 2.6 by fixing so many of these paper cut issues.
