Milas Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Good morning, I purchased Affinity Publisher a month ago and now I am using it to create a book. I have a problem which I cannot solve searching on forums or in the Affinity guide. I need to create a summary and the guide says that the option is hidden, and that I can find it under the menu Windows -> References. My menu "Windows" doesn't have any option called "References" or "Summary" so I really cannot figure how to create a summary. I searched also in other menus but I could not find them. Please, help me because this issue is interfering with my work schedule. Thank you and have a nice day Quote
GarryP Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Welcome to the forums @Milas The menu I think you are looking at is shown in my attached image but there’s no Summary item so I’m not sure what the guide is telling you to do. It would be helpful if you can tell us which guide you are using (and, if possible, give a link to it) and tell us what page/section of it you are looking at. Quote
Milas Posted January 29 Author Posted January 29 Hi Garry, thank you for your answer. The guide I am referring to is the one appearing by clicking on Help (in my native language it is called Guida, that's why I translated is as guide). For unknown reasons, when I searched for References in the Window menu some hours ago, it didn't appear, but now it magically appeared, so I was able to click on the References -> Summary option and create a list of the titles of my chapters (applying the Style Header 1). I used Text -> Summary -> Insert Summary to make it appear. Still, the page numbers do not appear in my summary. How can I do to show them? Quote

By Summary do you mean the Table Of Contents, or something else? Quote

English is not my native language so I don't know if there's a difference between Summary and Table of Contents. The one I would like to insert at the beginning of my book is just a list of all the chapters' titles with the number of the page where you will find that chapter. In my native language (italian) this is called a Sommario. Quote

If you switch the language to English on a given item in Help, you will see the same item in another language. There is a little icon to click on in the Table of Contents panel. It will show you a check box to tick if you want Page numbers included.
