ynnek Posted January 29 Posted January 29 This is an issue I have only just noticed. When I export (any format) there is a long lag before the preview is generated. (3-4 minutes on a 1.2MB file than contains 2 business cards). If I try and ignore the preview and just export anyway there is the same delay plus and additional 5 minute delay wathching the Export item dialogue box before the file is saved to disk. I get the same experience on 2 machines. OSX 15.2 M1 Mac mini 8GB RAM Publisher 2.5.7 Files on local drive. Quote
ynnek Posted January 29 Author Posted January 29 Update: I recreated the file using the same assets and believe I have isolated it down to SF Pro glyphs. As soon as I remove, or convert them to curves the export runs smoothly. Hope that helps. Quote
Hangman Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Hi @ynnek, Are you using the Variable version of SF Pro? If so then this is a known bug logged under AF-3885 which is currently awaiting a fix... ynnek Posted January 29 Author Posted January 29 Hi Hangman, in Fontbook it is listed as just SF Pro. I assume it would say Variable if it was SF Variable? Let me know if I should be looking elsewhere to determine. Kenny Quote
Hangman Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Hi @ynnek, If it's Version 19.2d2e1 then I believe it is the Variable version. With the font selected in Font Book, you can check by selecting Details on the right-hand side... You can also check in the Affinity apps by adding some text, formatting it using SF Pro and seeing whether the Font Variation Settings (the letter V) to the right of the font style in the context toolbar is active, i.e., whether you can click on it and see this... ynnek Posted January 29 Author Posted January 29 Hi @Hangman, In Fontbook it is Version 20.0d10e1 but no mention of the word Variable. In an Affinity app I do get the Font Variation Settings. cheers Kenny Quote
Hangman Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Hi @ynnek, I think SF Pro is updated on a regular basis so it sounds as though I have a slightly older version but if you're seeing the Font Variation Settings then it's definitely the variable version and a known bug... Many thanks for confirming... Until the bug is solved SF Pro is not going to be a good font to use so you may have to find an alternative... ynnek Posted January 29 Author Posted January 29 No problem, just relieved I know what the issue is! Thanks for confirming. Quote
