Knarf Posted January 28 Posted January 28 Hello all, I'm rather new to Affinity 2 but I purchased the suite and it was installed on my PC running windows 11. I also updated the latest version as prompted when the new update was available. My latest update to version 2.5.6 was installed and now when I open Affinity it tells me that version 2.5.6.7.2948 is available which I downloaded. Each time I sign on, I get the same message as if its not already installed. I have downloaded it 3 times and when I sign in it asks if I want the download again. When its finished downloading again it says its 'already installed'. My question is now 'What is with this? Am I missing something? Thank You in advance! Quote
Staff Lee D Posted January 29 Staff Posted January 29 @Knarf If you open your Affinity apps and click the Account icon in the top right, this will confirm which version you're using/have installed. Can you recall which installer type you originally downloaded and installed (MSIX/MSI/EXE)? As the MSIX installers will download and auto update, the MSI/EXE installers require you to manually download and then install the new version. This will overwrite the existing ones installed on your system. Quote

Some users do not understand that, and download the MSIX version, which causes problems. Knarf Posted January 29 Author Posted January 29 Thank You all for your advice. I downloaded the .exe version and it updated to the latest .7 version. Even though I'm a novice I LOVE Affinity! A fabulous program for the price point! Thank you again smart people! walt.farrell and mopperle 2 Quote
