lukramon Posted January 28 Posted January 28 Hi, I noticed that my Affinity V2.5.7 is using almost a third of my RAM memory; I'm not doing complex tasks, everything is running pretty slow now. Is this a bug from a recent update? Greetings, Luk Ramon Quote
lukramon Posted January 28 Author Posted January 28 Even crazier when I'm working in it... Please, I'd love to get some feedback on this. Quote
GarryP Posted January 28 Posted January 28 RAM usage depends a lot on what you have done in the application. Even if you are not doing complex tasks, if you keep a document open for a long time then the Undo stack, for one example, will start to increase in size. For example, if you add an image to a document and then remove it, the application keeps the image in memory so that it can restore it if needed. Once you add up all of these sort of things it’s not surprising that application uses lots of RAM at times. There are also lots of other things to take into consideration but if it was only taking up a third of my RAM then I wouldn’t worry about it. Quote

Ok, got it, but I'm not working in big files, nor I keep them open for long. The performance drops significantly when I open Affinity Designer. Quote

They probably don't know what's going on with the program and why it's happening. And why, when the program is running for a long time, it freezes or slows down. It is not clear. There are hundreds of posts here on the forum about RAM not working properly, but it hasn't been resolved for years. emmrecs01 and lukramon 1 1 Quote

The problem is that it happens when it wants to. Sometimes you can't reproduce it and explain why it happens. That's why the problem is not labeled as a problem. Quote
