Staff Patrick Connor Posted January 27 Staff Posted January 27 Hi All, We have just made available an Release Candidate RC2 build of 2.6.0 beta - version 2.6.0.3078 - This was created to address bugs and make improvements to the new features announced in this post The fix list for this build is here. Improvements in 3078 Masks now have an "invert mask" on the right click menu on Desktop This is a potential release candidate, meaning that 2.6.0 will be released to the public shortly, though it may end up being a slightly later build than this, depending on what is found in this build. The minimum feature requirements have been set to need an Apple Silicon M type chip. Karen Jones Posted January 27 Posted January 27 I have a 9th generation iPad will this update work on this. No silicone chip as far as I am aware. If not will version 2.6 never work on my iPad or will it be available in full release? Quote

It is only the ML-based features (select subject, select object) being added in 2.6 which will not work without an M series processor. 2 hours ago, Karen Jones said: No silicone chip as far as I am aware. It is silicon, not silicone (no "e" - they are two completely different things). ALL iPad models have Apple Silicon chips, but most of them (including yours) use A series processors rather than M series processors. Marley Carlson 1 Quote

Version 2.6 will work on your iPad, yes. HOWEVER 2 of the new Affinity Photo 2.6 features will not be available, those features are Machine Learning: Object Selection Tool Machine Learning: Select Subject Quote Patrick Connor Serif Europe Ltd Latest V2 releases on each platform Help make our apps better by joining our beta program! Frozen Death Knight Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Thanks for fixing the brush selection bug for the Brushes panel. Was very annoying to deal with when switching brushes on the fly, so it is good to see it gone in a last minute patch before release. More of this please in future releases. Patrick Connor 1 Quote
Benfischer Posted January 28 Posted January 28 thanks for the invert mask option! And thanks for including the right-click Clear, Fill and Invert mask options in Designer, since those weren't easily doable at all previously Frozen Death Knight and Patrick Connor 2 Quote
AffinityMakesMeWonder Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Every new update to Affinity Photo, beta as retail, I immediately looking into Percedural Texture live filter - the annoying behavior that the GUI is tiny sized every time we reopen the PT-filter again… Why can’t Affinity Photo remember the last size och placement of the PT GUI? This ”bug” has been going for years and years! Is’nt people using the powerful and funny filter Percedural Texture any more? The Youtube channel PlasmaPortal has a lot of tutorials on this amazing filter. This ”bug” has been going for years and years! Have you reported it previously as a bug? Was it accepted and logged as a bug? In any case, it sounds like it is not new with the beta, and thus is better discussed in the other part of the forums, since this part of the forum is for issues that are new to the beta. Frozen Death Knight Posted February 4 Posted February 4 I tried to replicate this old bug with the Smudge Brush Tool that causes the blocky textures as well as alpha holes in opaque layers. After som further testing I found out that it is still possible with certain brushes such as the Analog Ink Nib in the Inks category. Quote
