Is there the equivalent of Photoshop's "Auto-Blend Layers"? I frequently swap faces for friends for birthday / Christmas cards.

Not that I know of.

However, if you give us some example images that you want to blend, and tell us how you want them to be blended, then someone might be able to give you some useful advice about doing it manually.

Basically, take image 1 and place the face in the "flynn-Rider" image as seamless as possible.

Did you just want the face swapped (like below) or did you want the face to become a cartoon character as well?

In brief...

Cut out the face and paste onto the cartoon image
Rotate and fit to size
Added a little saturation with a HSL Adjustment layer
Selected the hair on the cartoon layer, duplicated it and place above the new face layer
Mask face to fit better to the cartoon layer
