After warping an object, the bounding box doesn't conform to the newly warped object but sticks with the original dimension of the object. The problem is that I have difficulty trying to select the object and have to do about 4 to 5 random clicks around / on the object before it gets selected. I'm guessing it's meant to be this way?

Yes, the bounding box shows you the extents of the original layer.

I think that was a deliberate decision by Serif, but I don’t know the reasoning behind it. (Maybe it was just easier for the developers to do it this way, if on-canvas layer selection is facilitated always by the layer itself rather than sometimes by its visual appearance.)

I don’t think you’re the first person to wonder about this, but you get used to it after a while.
