cchris
If you've got one item locked in a complex graphic, how do you unlock it since you can't select it? nathandh
Alfred
You can select it on the Layers panel, where you can also unlock it by clicking on the padlock icon. cchris
You can select it on the Layers panel, where you can also unlock it by clicking on the padlock icon. But if you've got a bunch of nested layers, do you have to go through them to find the locked layer? I just finished a graphic with 600+ layers in it--tracking down locked layers in that would be time consuming. G-F-H
Staff Callum Posted July 29, 2016 Staff Share Posted July 29, 2016 Hi cchris, At the moment what Alfred posted above is the best method for unlocking your layers. However a Lock/Unlock All button has been requested a few times in the past so it may be considered for future updates :) C G-F-H 1 Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP. nathandh
Is there really no way to select it? I'm with @ccrhis -- it's sort of impossible to "scan" a list of hundreds or thousands of layers to find the single one I want to select / unlock. carl123
Not sure if this will help or not as I do not know how you work exactly, but if you.... Select > All (Ctrl+A) ...then items which are hidden are not selected in the Layers panel. So as you scroll through them the locked items tend to stand out as they are deselected. Which makes finding them a bit quicker. 1. Not much use if you routinely lock all items, but could be useful if you only have a few locked items. 2. You may have to expand the Layer to see the item, but hopefully you know at least what layer the item is on.
