Hello,

With the current beta I have the following problem. Placed EPS (and maybe other) files are incorrect size without me changing anything. In the preview, the size still looks right. However, as soon as I click on the graphic, the blue frame does not match the size of the graphic displayed. If I then move the graphic, it is scaled. The problem also occurs when I deactivate Metal and work from desktop an not network. When I open the document in the previous beta, then the phenomenon does not occur. I attached a video and the two sample files. Can someone please open it and see if it is reproducible? Thank you!

I have exported the EPS file with the same publisher version as the test document. How can one open a beta document in the release version? I only get an error message...

If I place the EPS file in a new document in the release version I do not have the problems. If I open this publisher document in beta 2.6.0 (3027) I don't have the problem either. Only if I open it in the current Beta 2.6.0 (3058) I have it.

Hi @PeterB.,

There was a bug fix in this release logged under AF-5476 which fixed an issue where placed EPS and SVG files appeared at the incorrect Original DPI, namely 300 dpi instead of 72 dpi...

This means that EPS files would have unknowingly been incorrectly sized in 2.6.0.3027 owing to the bug which is why they now appear at the incorrect size in 2.6.0.3058, i.e., because the bug has been fixed in this version...

It also explains why it works correctly when placing the EPS into a new document in 2.6.0.3058.

Unfortunately, any placed EPS files added to a document created in 2.6.0.3027 are potentially going to be incorrectly sized when opened in 2.6.0.3058.

Hi @Hangman,thanks for the explanation. Just to make sure I understand, does this also apply to all release-versions before 2.6.0.3027, so f.e. 2.5.7?? That would mean that with the next release I would have to check every single document to see if the placed graphics are still the right size??

Hi @PeterB.,

I don't believe so, as far as I'm aware this only impacted 2.6.0.3027...

A simple way to check is to look at the Original DPI shown for any placed EPS files in Resource Manager, in 2.5.7 and the current Beta 2.6.0.3058. They should be shown as 72 dpi, in 2.6.0.3027 they will be shown as 300 dpi which was the bug...

Thanks for the report, there were some issues with the scale of some linked formats fixed in this build (as Hangman correctly mentions), but unfortunately this still needed another fix as it was still affecting CMYK EPS/IDML files, which means your linked EPS file wasn't covered by that fix.

The next beta should (subject to testing) include this additional fix and this file should load correctly once we release that beta.

I have just tested this and explicitly set the EPS to 72 DPI in the document settings and exported it again so that I have three placed graphics.

In the release version and in 2.6.0.3027, an original resolution of 300 DPI is displayed for all placed EPS files and does not change.

In the beta 2.6.0.3058, the display of the original DPI is 300 in the first 1-2 seconds an then switches to 72 DPI. I don't know if I expressed myself clearly, so I've attached another video.

Your EPS file is CMYK which results in an Original dpi of 300 dpi if placed in 2.5.7 or 2.6.0.3207 and opened in 2.6.0.3058. But if you add the CMYK EPS file directly to a document created in 2.6.0.3058 it appears with the correct Original dpi of 72 dpi...

An RGB EPS file appears with the correct Original dpi of 72 dpi across all versions, so as @Jon P mentioned above the issue affects CMYK EPS/IDML files which I hadn't realised...

The issue "Linked IDML's load at a different resolution to 2.5" (REF: AF-5609) has been fixed by the developers in the latest beta build (2.6.0.3078). The fix is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Affinity Info Bot to notify us.
