Affinity Rat Posted January 22 Posted January 22 I’m working on an image largely using vector art but would like to use pixel art as fill, so was wondering if its possible to select a vector object and create a pixel selection from it so I can paint inside the borders of the vector layer. Thanx Quote
GarryP Posted January 22 Posted January 22 In the desktop version of Designer you can go to the Pixel Persona and Ctrl+click the layer’s thumbnail in the Layers Panel to get a pixel selection which covers the non-transparent area(s) of any layer including vector layers. I don’t know if a similar thing is available in the iPad version, as I don’t use it, but someone else might. There is some advice here: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/161336-cmdclick-layer-pixel-selection-equivalent/ (the current last post seems to say that you can do what you want but I can’t check). Affinity Rat Posted January 22 Author Posted January 22 @GarryP thank you My initial attempts were in V1 of ADez which didnt seem possible, but quickly found it in V2. Quote
GarryP Posted January 22 Posted January 22 You’re welcome. For the benefit of other people reading this, could you explain where you found it and what you need to do with it? Quote
NotMyFault Posted January 22 Posted January 22 You could use merge visible, then rasterize to mask switch to pixel persona use quick menu and selection from layer if you want to create a selection from a single layer, the last 2 steps is all you need. Ok, simply select the desired layer, in the pixel persona, then long click on the layer, a menu pops up, and one of the options is “ Selection from layer” Voila! GarryP 1 Quote
