Hi, I got this error when I was opening a file in Publisher: "The file appears to be truncated (shorter than expected)." I use the 2.5.7 versions of V2.

It was created on PC1 (MS Surface 7, Win 11) and saved on Synology Drive through Synology Drive Client. Then I wanted to open it on PC2 (custom build desktop, Win 11) and got this error. It never happend to me before and I work on both machines and with Synology Drive and Publisher for quiet some time now.

To recover the file I tried to copy it from Synology drive on PC1 to the desktop (C drive) and it opened fine. Then I saved it under a new name on the Synology Drive and I could open it also on PC2. When I did the same on PC2 - copy the original file from Synology to Desktop of PC2 it gave me the same error and it didn't open.

I suspect it has to do something about the SynologyDrive Client, but I have no idea what and why it suddenly happened. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Hello @teferi and welcome to the forums.

I advise you not to use the Synology Drive Client app or any other cloud sync app, at least not if you are working with Affinity programmes. Instead, create a network connection to the working directory on the NAS or save to a separate working directory on the Surface and then copy to the Synology Drive Client sync directory. This is a little more effort, but minimises the risk of file corruption and loss.
