Hi, I have an easy one:

I have found that the move tools current design slows down my workflow, here's a logical and easy to implement solution.

The issue:
My document has hundreds of layers. In order to not accidently alter layers underneath I have to turn off "Auto-Select" as I am moving objects on layers. I find myself clicking this feature on and off for hours at a time.

Solution:
Allow holding "ALT", which we do to select through layers that are stacked, to act as though auto-select were enabled. This is a logical change because holding "ALT" is a direct action we do to make a selection. It's very deliberate and an action we take to make selections, so when it doesn't, in this case because auto-select is off, it actually feels like the app isn't behaving correctly. It's a save assumption to think the user wants the ability to select to be functional when they hold "ALT" and click.

Specific fix:
Holding "ALT" while using the move-tool (V) forces "Auto-select" on while "ALT" is held. (ALT is already associated with wanting to select when you click)

Please consider this logical change that will help users who need to both protect their layers from accidental movement and need to move objects frequently jumping to multiple layers.

Thank you!

Why don't you use layer Lock?

Layer lock would cause me to have to scroll through hundreds of layers to find the next layer I want to select. I do use it for layers I want to avoid completely. Layers with layer lock on would have to be manually selected from the layer window.

For greater context, I'm using Affinity Photo for game design. I'm working on a 16-bit height map that represents a 4.5 miles x 4.5 miles area. There's hundreds of layers and the file is nearly 2 GB in size. I have to jump around between layers rapidly and I also have to avoid accidently clicking other layers while I move and adjust items on layers. The "hold ALT forces auto-select to be triggered on while holding" is a solution that would completely solve this work flow problem, and it's completely logical as far application functionality.

Hers's a screenshot of the work in progress, as well as a couple 3D renders for additional context:
(Flat areas are filled with content in the game engine, cities specifically)
