Constant crashes of Photo 2.5.xx

Hello, Iam using the V2 software from its start.

It keeps crashing up from the start of using till this time. (photo V2)

 

It doesnt matter if I use win or exe install, different settings in program (gpu), actuall version upon notice, and it still keeps crashing.

- occaissional crash on program startup (when loading pic)
- when doing anything inside the program
- when I have half way worked picture
- on export

The program is simply unusable for me.

 

Any thoughts on this ?

 

I have a separate copy on two systems and both are crashing
1st pc i7 8700k / 32gb ddr4 / rtx4060 gpu / nvme ssd. Win 11
2nd pc i7 13700k 32 gb dd4 / rtx 4080 gpu / nvme ssd. Win 11

 

Adding two crash reports from same hour (one immediate after opening file, one half way thru the editing)

Hi P3Ci... do you use the Freehand Selection tool in the Poligonal mode? At the moment, that tool can make Affinity Photo crash and close without any notice or warning (even some seconds or minutes after using the tool).

I just tried that tool again on 2.5.7 (exe version) and have no problems on windows 11 pro.

Hi @P3Ci,

The Freehand Selection Tool crash in Polygonal mode (AF-4734) has been marked as fixed by the team in the 2.6 beta, so you could also try your workflow in the beta apps to confirm if the crashes persist.

If the issue still occurs, see if you can capture the exact steps taken in-app to confirm if the crash is reproducible and let us know.

I could not use Beta version.. But now that the update is out, I can atleast confirm, It is working well !!

No crashes, and I get overall better performance for selection tools !! 

 

The AI selection tool is added extra BONUS to me !! So much more simple and so much faster to edit product photo now

I will retest at home on 2nd PC, where I edit bigger files and do some photomerging...
