Sueratchet Posted January 16 Posted January 16 I made a flyer in the normal way using text boxes and saving as .afpub but now when I reopen the file, the text boxes are merged as an image and not editable. I really don't want to recreate this. Where did I go wrong? I have been using publisher for many years and Page Plus (which I still miss) Quote
carl123 Posted January 16 Posted January 16 It's possible the Text has either been converted to curves or rasterise Can you upload the afpub file to the forum? Sueratchet Posted January 16 Author Posted January 16 The problem is the business I have is not politically correct here or in the UK. Not illegal or racist but pro-life information for the Spring -I don't think I should upload. It merged 7 text boxes and a picture as an image. There are still 4 text boxes not merged. ? Quote
Sueratchet Posted January 16 Author Posted January 16 I export it to a pdf file but the original.afpub file acts just like its pdf file, not editable Quote

Are you sure that you opened the original AFPUB document rather than an exported rasterised version? It’s very easy to export a document, close the document, and then accidentally open the exported version via the application Recent Files list or, in Windows, the application jump list. Quote
Sueratchet Posted January 16 Author Posted January 16 Thanks I was having that problem the day before because my pdfs are now being opened by affinity instead of firefox BUT i realized it as soon as I couldn't edit them and have been very deliberate on choosing the right extension of the file, I wish that were the case. If I look at the layer , a bunch of the text boxes and a jpg is one image- like it was flattened. Quote
Sueratchet Posted January 16 Author Posted January 16 I can go back to one that was saved the day before with a different name. It doesn't make sense because there are some text boxes that I can edit but mostly its just an image. I didn't think Affinity had the flatten feature, there is alot I still don't know. Quote
Sueratchet Posted January 16 Author Posted January 16 Ok, I am pretty sure I must have saved the pdf as .afpub because it acts exactly like the pdf file. I need to change where the pdf's open. User error. Thanks so much, you are very kind to respond so quickly. Quote
