anto Posted January 15 Posted January 15 I want to override all characters on the keyboard. How do I override the number keys? Quote
thomaso Posted January 15 Posted January 15 I am not sure what you mean by "override all characters" (disable the keyboard?) – but regarding number keys I think you can't avoid them working: if no object is selected than pressing a number key at least changes the layer opacity (while this doesn't seem to be a 'shortcut' but rather hardware linked like general modifier keys or like brush width via cmd-opt / alt-strg drag). I have a spare keyboard and I want to reassign the keys on it in a way that suits me and make corresponding stickers. I wanted to do it without modifiers, using only one key for a certain action. I have already solved this. I just assigned control+1 to certain shortcuts instead of 1. And now, when I click on the number 1, I automatically execute the command with the shortcut control+1. Quote

However, you seemed to solve your problem and I don't ned to understand it. So just another hint: If you use macOS you can alternatively use the F-keys as single shortcut keys (without an additional key required) by enabling the option “Use F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys” in the system preferences. https://support.apple.com/102439 Quote macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1
