@clonkel In general, "raised areas" are created with light and shadow, plus some specular highlights (depending on the subject matter). The upper part of your posted image is brighter and the lower part tends to be darker, plus you have some very shiny specular highlights in the more saturated areas. So, yes, it can be done, but your approach will depend on what images/shapes you are starting with.

Yes, it could be done, the attached was a very quick experiment. It may serve as a starting point for you or at least give you some ideas.

@markw could you let me know which version of AP it was saved as I am unable to open it as it is a later version. I have 2.5.7

It was saved with the beta version, probably the latest 2.6.0 one.
