Dear support team,

I need a floor shadow function for my photo collages. At the moment, creating a floor shadow with Affinity Photo 2 is very time-consuming. As an example, I am sending you a screenshot from the Magix Photo manual in which the function is explained. Here the floor shadow is added with a mouse click. My question to you is whether you could retrofit this function in Affinity Photo 2.

Thank you in advance

This looks more like a request/suggestion than a question, so a moderator might move this thread to a different section of the forums for you.

It’s fairly easy to do the ones in the right-hand image in your PDF – add an Ellipse with a Gaussian Blur Effect – and that sort of thing could be made into an Asset for later use. Drag, drop and resize isn’t a single click but it’s not much extra work.

The “Bodenschatten” version in the PDF could probably be done in a similar way but it might be a bit more difficult to get it looking nice.

It looks like an interesting bit of functionality though, and more options for creating shadows would be appreciated.

Dear Doctor, it has been quite easy for years to create the two types of shadows you want, one using the shadow effect options, the other with an ellipse shape + blur effect. For future posts, you can also use the handy feature of inserting images directly into the forum without anyone having to download a file.
