Bynah Posted January 12 Posted January 12 I am new to Af2. Trying it out. I imported all my assets from V1, that I use all the time. So I am working upgrading items on the menu and trying to save them again in the assets panel This message comes up and you can't click on it, or on the exclamation point. You can't open the panel all the way. I tried to delete the ones it said and I was going to upload them again, but it keeps bringing the next item into it's trouble window. There is nothing I can find on the forum or anywhere online about this. I did wonder if changes were automatically updated in the assets panel. That would be super! Quote
Bynah Posted January 12 Author Posted January 12 I did get it to expand but that message will not go away Quote
Staff NathanC Posted January 15 Staff Posted January 15 Hi @Bynah, Were these asset categories imported manually into the panel via .afassets files, or did you accept the 'Import custom content from V1' prompt that appears when launching V2 for the first time? For the categories that are reporting this error, could you possibly provide a copy of the .afassets file? Thanks! Quote
Bynah Posted January 17 Author Posted January 17 Well, actually, this wasn't the first time I opened it or used it. Long story. I am "trying it out" to see if I can live with it, as well as Catalina. so I go back and forth between one and 2. But this is the most serious I've gotten about using it. This message stays constant at the bottom of the assets panel no matter what category I open. But it is working better now. I do also have questions about V2 if you or anyone else has an idea: 1. Can you update your assets automatically from V1, as I add to them in version 1? 2. Is there a retro look for V2? I can't stand the new robot feel. thanks for any and all help. Quote
Staff NathanC Posted January 17 Staff Posted January 17 Thanks for getting back to me, You could try the following procedure to factory reset your V2 assets, and then manually re-import them from V1 again: Close all affinity apps Hold down CTRL and launch Publisher 2 while continuing to hold CTRL A 'Clear user data' menu will prompt, check 'Reset Assets' and then press 'Clear' The app will now launch, check your assets panel to confirm if the error message has dissappeared. If the error has disappeared, export your asset categories out of Publisher V1 via the Assets panel context menu(3 lines top right hand corner) if you haven't already, and then in V2 go to File > Import content and then import all of your .afassets files again and see if the error remains gone. 7 minutes ago, Bynah said: 1. To answer your questions, V1 and V2 are entirely separate from one-another and are not dynamically linked in terms of local user data. When V2 is launched for the first time it will prompt a content migration message where it will import custom content (such as assets) from V1, but this is a one-time operation. There isn't an alternative UI available at this time. Quote
Bynah Posted January 17 Author Posted January 17 thank you so much! I am going to do that when I have time. all the best! Quote
