Attached is a Tutorial on Using Masks and Alpha in Affinity Apps (primarily Affinity Photo v2.5.7). The basic principles apply to Designer and Publisher as well, though the available tools for creation and editing of masks differ between the three apps. The Zip file includes a PDF of the written tutorial, along with two Affinity Photo files (images used in the tutorial) for your review, clarification and experimentation.

New and Intermediate users often struggle with Alpha and Mask Creation/Editing in Affinity, especially those coming from other software that works differently. I know I did. The tutorial doesn't cover everything, but I hope it helps clarify some concepts and lays a decent foundation for further progress. Hopefully, there aren't any (or many) errors.

EDIT: Corrected a few 'typos" and re-uploaded the ZIP file.
