MarkXKR Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Seems like a stupid question, but after upgrading to 2.5.7, when I use the Place tool the File Explorer dialog always opens to a default view i.e. list view. I can change the view to any other option e.g. Thumbnail, icons etc and select and place a file. But next time I place it reverts back to the default list view. This doesn't happen in other apps i.e. Microsoft and other vendor apps, so assume it's not a File Explorer issue. Couldn't see an option in AFPhoto to remember file explorer view. My colleague updated at the same time, same Win 11 platform and doesn't have this problem. Anyone know of a setting in AFPhoto that I may have changed? Or anyway to overcome this 'memory loss'? Thx Quote

I am on Mac, not Windows, and here if I have the Finder set to list view for Finder windows then Affinity will use list view. If I change it to Icons, Affinity will change to icons. Perhaps it is the same on Windows. Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
MarkXKR Posted January 10 Author Posted January 10 @Old Bruce That's what I thought as well. That's what happens with other apps such as Word, but for some reason AFP is not recognising settings... Quote
Staff stokerg Posted January 23 Staff Posted January 23 Hi @MarkXKR, I can't replicate this here on our Windows PC. I've just done a full reset of Affinity and when i use File>Place the this window is in List view but i change it to Large Icons. Restart the PC and this setting has been remembered when i next use File>Place. I suspect this may be a Windows settings somewhere but just try starting Affinity while holding down the Control key and you'll get shown a Clear User Data screen and 3 options will be ticked and you just click on Clear. Affinity will then load as normal and now see if you can get the Place window to remember the view you've change it to. Quote
