As the title says. I did a quick search for this but couldn't see anything. Specifically, I'm looking to work with vector maps and Designer, where I'll import a vector map file with numerous different layers, a layer for roads, a layer for water, a layer for train lines etc.

Can Designer handle importing vector files with numerous layers, and is it able to recognise imported layers and have them be editable?

If I understand what you are asking then yes, it should. But why not test it for yourself?

Thanks, it's basically just whether Designer can handle importing an SVG and keep the editable layers intact.

I've just upgraded my OS, had Affinity suite V1 on old OS and about to upgrade to V2.

I think that depends on what the SVG contains ... but again, I suggest testing it with some of the files you want to use with V2.

Keep in mind there is a trail V2 version available if you want to test with it before committing to buying it.

I think it’s worth noting that some things in an SVG – such as vector patterns, CSS styling (often used in maps), and others – cannot be reproduced in the Affinity applications and they are often simply discarded without any warning to the user, so any testing for ‘fitness’ will need to take this into account.

Thanks, I realise it's not gonna be perfect but will test it out. I know a few years ago ArcGIS & Illustrator/Esri & Adobe collaborated to produce a workflow, but I ditched Adobe many, many years ago.
