Fitzy Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Hello! I want to report a bug I found so I hope this is the right spot. I was trying to contour some text and it wouldn't show up until I moved it off the artboard. I did some testing to figure out the problem and found that it was only happening on a duplicated artboard! The text disappears until it is either moved onto a new artboard (not a duplicated one) or off the artboard completely. It does become visible again if the appearance is baked but that doesn't help with using the contour tool. I attached some screenshots to try show what I mean I did look to see if anyone else had come across this but it didn't seem like it, but hopefully this helps someone. Quote
Hangman Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Hi @Fitzy and welcome to the forums, Good catch. It's the same on Mac and only appears to affect text, shapes work as expected. Someone in the moderation team should pick this up and log it. Latens Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Thought so too but perhaps someone has taken the Jira database when exiting Nottingham Towers. Or the post-its got misplaced while cleaning out the bottom drawer.😉 lepr 1 Quote .
lepr Posted January 6 Posted January 6 A workaround is to enclose the text object in a Compound and apply the contour to the Compound instead of the text object Latens 1 Quote

NotMyFault Posted January 6 Posted January 6 The reason for not showing the outline: it gets mispositioned outside of the artboard and consequently clipped. On iPad the outline is occasionally shown in X-ray mode, depending on zoom level. Latens Posted January 6 Posted January 6 With 4 different tags to make the contour finally work properly. Guess my joke isn't that far from the truth. I sometimes think Serif wants us to be only creative in finding workarounds to use their tools. Fitzy, lepr and NotMyFault 3 Quote .
